No matter how well planned my Thanksgiving menu is, I always have way too many leftovers. I like to put these leftovers to good use, by making what I call Thanksgiving leftover timbales. I spray a 4-inch or 6-inch cake ring with Pam, then layer my leftovers inside the cake ring in alternating layers of colors and textures. Shown in the photo: a bottom layer of fried onion mashed potatoes, topped with Swedish meatballs, garlic string beans, and candied yams. I have used other family favorite Thanksgiving dishes to make these timbales such as turkey roulade, cranberry sauce, succotash, chestnut stuffing, etc. Use your family’s favorite Thanksgiving leftovers to create your own version of these tasty timbales with a great visual. There is no specific recipe to make these timbales. Just get creative with the colors, tastes, and textures of your Thanksgiving leftovers as you layer them in the cake ring. To warm the timbales before serving, place them in a preheated 350 degree oven for about 20 minutes. Get ready for kudos from family and friends when you serve your Thanksgiving leftover timbales. Happy Thanksgiving.
